TalkTalk is to roll out a major new update for its TV platform in early 2018.
The provider plans to integrate set-top box viewing, the Talk TV Store and TalkTalk TV's mobile apps into one unified platform called TalkTalk TV.
This will be available via the set-top box, online and as an app for iOS and Android devices, giving customers the freedom to pause a programme and resume on a different device at the point where they left off.
With the new TalkTalk TV app, customers will be able to stream, rent and buy movies and box sets via their computer, tablet or smartphone, as well as watch live and on-demand content.
Both the app and the set-top box will have the same menu options, which have been designed to be simpler and more intuitive.
The provider believes these changes will "revolutionise its multi-screen offering" and make it much easier for people to enjoy TalkTalk TV both at home and while they are on the move.
TalkTalk also plans to roll out a Chromecast capability, so customers can watch a programme on a big screen in another room for a multi-room experience at no extra cost.
Will Ennett, Acting Managing Director at TalkTalk TV, commented: "We’re focused on offering a truly premium TV service at an unbeatable price.
"With the internet and mobile changing the way our customers watch TV, we’ve tailored our service to suit their evolving needs."
Mr Ennett added that TalkTalk TV has been streamlined to create a more integrated and seamless experience across devices, thereby making it "even easier for customers to watch the entertainment they love".
