Virgin Media customers in and around London have been reporting outages that affected their broadband and cable TV connections yesterday (October 15th).
Problems started to be noticed around 16:00 and were blamed on a power issue in the region. The Daily Mirror reported that thousands of customers had been impacted, with many taking to social media to complain to the operator.
A spokesperson for Virgin Media said: "We are aware of a power issue impacting our services for customers in some parts of London – this is not a nationwide issue. We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
Services remained unavailable for several hours, though by this morning, issues appeared to be mostly resolved, according to the website Down Detector, which monitors sources such as social media activity for complaints.
The outage comes shortly after Virgin Media implemented a price increase for its broadband and TV customers, with monthly bills rising by between £2 and £4 depending on the services customers receive.
