Sky's new dedicated Sky Sports F1 channel launches today (March 9th) at 8pm to the delight of motorsports fans across the country.

The channel, which is also available on Virgin Media, will show every F1 race live and without interruption as well as the practice and qualifying rounds.

The races will be supplemented by a number of F1-related programmes and in-depth interviews with the sport's stars as well as archive action.

At 8pm tonight, the channel will kick off with The F1 Show which will see F1 stars Martin Brundle and Damon Hill joining the Sky F1 team to preview the 2012 season.

This will be followed by episodes of Formula One Legends featuring the likes of Sir Jackie Stewart and Emerson Fittipaldi.

The action will really kick off between March 16th and 18th when the first Grand Prix of the season takes place in Australia at Melbourne's Albert Park.

Current champion Sebastian Vettel will be hoping to boost his chances of retaining the crown by getting the season off to a good start while former champions Lewis Hamilton, Michael Schumacher, Fernando Alonso, the returning Kimi Raikkonen and Jenson Button will also be hoping to impress on the first 58 laps of the season.
