Virgin TV customers will be able to view BT Sport in 4K from July 30th.
BT Sport's Ultra High Definition channel is being added to Virgin Media's top TV bundles at no extra cost, which means sports fans can follow major events with a picture that offers four times the detail of standard High Definition.
The channel will be offered as part of the Virgin TV Full House and VIP bundles, while subscribers who already take BT Sport will see the UHD option automatically added to their service.
In addition, new and existing Virgin TV customers who receive the Player or Mix packages have the option of adding all BT Sport channels to their bundle for £18 a month.
Subscribers will need to have a Virgin TV V6 box and a compatible 4K UHD television in order to enjoy the enhanced picture quality.
David Bouchier, Chief Digital Entertainment Officer at Virgin TV, commented: "We’re bringing our customers even closer to the action by showing top sporting events in the very best 4K Ultra HD picture quality.
"It’s the next best thing to actually being in the stadium - so the grass is quite literally getting greener for Virgin TV customers."
Tony Singh, Content and Business Development Director at BT's Consumer Division, added that it is delighted to be building on its successful partnership with Virgin Media.
"We are thrilled that Virgin customers will now be able to enjoy our best coverage of our best events," he said.
Among the events on offer to Virgin TV customers through BT Sport are 42 live Premier League matches, all fixtures from the Uefa Champions League and Uefa Europa League, boxing, MotoGP and the European Rugby Champions Cup.
