Virgin Media Business has launched a business-grade 4G mobile service for UK companies, supported by EE's 4G network.

Business Mobile from Virgin Media Business will offer mobile voice and data connectivity for UK companies, using "the fastest speeds in the country", the provider claims.

The service will be available to over 60 per cent of the UK, giving firms in more than 100 towns and cities the chance to upgrade their broadband and phone connection.

Virgin Media Business explained that new and existing customers will have the opportunity to integrate their fixed and mobile communications through one supplier.

This will remove the need to manage a different provider for each service, saving money, time and complexity, the firm stated.

Duncan Higgins, Director of Products and Marketing at Virgin Media Business, said the service provider is "simplifying things" for its customers.

"EE’s 4G experience over the past ten months clearly illustrates the benefits of the technology and their 4G network coverage is unrivalled in the UK," he claimed.

"With 4G, you can get more done, work flexibly and bring your professional applications together on a single device."

Mr Higgins noted that remote working "is now the norm" and 4G increases customers' range of options for working in a way that suits them.

"Chief information officers up and down the country have told us they believe mobile communications will be essential for the future of their organisation, but they also need a base of operations," he noted.

As such, Virgin Media Business' new service builds on its existing connectivity, convergence and collaboration services, Mr Higgins added.

He said this enables businesses to give staff safe, secure mobile access to the tools and data they need.

Last year, EE agreed a deal with Virgin Media in order to ensure its customers could use Virgin's mobile broadband network on the London Underground.
