Virgin Media has launched a new app that enables existing customers to upgrade to premium content without needing to call the TV, home phone and broadband provider.
The app can be accessed through customers' TiVo boxes simply by heading to the Apps and Games screen, searching for the content they wish to upgrade to, and following the on-screen instructions.
From there, customers can subscribe to a range of premium content offered by Virgin Media, including Sky Sports and Sky Movies, while customers can also access the new BT Sport channels, featuring a range of exclusive football and rugby action.
The app is available to all customers with TiVo, Virgin Media's flagship PVR, which allows people to record three programmes at once and remote record online from anywhere in the world.
Two options are available - the 1TB TiVo box, which records 500 hours of standard TV or up to 100 hours of HD TV, or the 500GB box, which can record 250 hours of standard TV or up to 50 hours of HD TV.
All TiVo packages are available through a TV only deal, or as part of a TV, home phone and broadband package with the service provider.
