Speculation that 4K movies could be about to launch on Sky Q is growing ahead of an announcement by Sky later this week.
Sky is planning to unveil details of some "exciting changes" to Sky Movies at a special event on Wednesday June 15th.
And there are lots of indications these could be something to do with 4K.
At the launch event for Sky Q last year, Director of New Products Andrew Olsen promised that 4K sports, movies and other entertainment content would be brought to customers in 2016.
Director of Strategy Nick Hern was even more specific in March this year, when he told the Connected TV Summit in London that Sky is looking at a summer rollout of 4K Sky Q content.
Since we're now at the halfway point of the year and summer is finally here, it seems likely that the time has now finally arrived.
Sky's big announcement will be made at a media event at the London Film Festival on Wednesday morning at 8:30am.
