TalkTalk has launched MobileSafe, a new security and parental control app for its mobile customers.
Subscribers can access the application - which incorporates anti-virus, safe browsing, anti-theft, parental controls and call and text message filtering - free of charge in the Google Play store.
The equivalent of TalkTalk's network-level security solution HomeSafe, it can be specifically tailored to the needs of individual customers.
Dan Meader, Director of Mobile at TalkTalk, claimed the firm is "already the leading provider for internet safety", and the launch of MobileSafe takes this "one step further".
“It is essential for us to give our customers security solutions that best meet their family needs," he stated.
Mr Meader cited TalkTalk research, which revealed 60 per cent of parents are worried about the content their children can access via mobile devices.
"MobileSafe incorporates parent filtering allowing them to block content they feel is harmful or inappropriate," he explained.
TalkTalk says the launch of MobileSafe is part of its TalkTalk’s network upgrade programme, TalkTalk at Work - a £100 million commitment to provide a "safer, faster and more reliable broadband service".
